The Heart of the Role

The ScotsX Core Teacher and Learning Designer will design and deliver the refinement and growth of the ScotsX program, and contribute to the planned integration of the program across Stage 4 in future years. The position of ScotsX Core Teacher and Learning Designer is a 1 to 2 year β€˜secondment’. This role is accompanied by a standard Permanent Teaching role. Beyond 2025 there may be opportunities for further leadership and development roles within the Middle School. The incumbent will start the role full-time from January 2025, however, this is negotiable.

Who are you?

  • Bachelor of Education or equivalent, and NESA teacher accreditation.
  • You have outstanding organisational skills with the proven ability to work within tight timeframes and capacity to effectively manage multiple projects.
  • You will have demonstrated knowledge of, and experience in, school organisation policy and procedures.
  • Proficiency with developing new approaches to teaching and learning and student character formation
  • Experience with and commitment to teaching and pastorally caring for Stage 3 and/or Stage 4 boys.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Proficiency with educational technology & communication platforms.
  • Ability to coach other teachers in new approaches to pedagogy, curriculum and assessment.
  • Strong knowledge of curriculum and learning design frameworks and processes (e.g. experiential learning; mastery learning).
  • Subject expertise, preferably in Mathematics and Science.
  • Breadth of knowledge beyond subject specialty, to be able to see integrations across disciplinary domains.
