About the organisation
Our client is a Christian not-for-profit organisation who serves the under-resourced churches globally through the provision of Bibles, biblical resources and training. They are seeking an experienced Accountant, who is analytical and personable.
The primary objective of this role is to contribute to oversee and undertake the daily financial management and strategic leadership for Australia and New Zealand and to contribute to strategic financial planning for Australia and New Zealand.
This is a full-time role Hours of work are Monday-Friday during business hours and based in their Penrith office.
Key Responsibilities
- Undertake and monitor the day-to-day financial operations within the Organisation, such as including financial statements, payroll, invoicing, and other lodgements and reporting transactions.
- End to end payroll administration, management and reporting ensuring compliance with the Award and/or legislative requirements.
- Undertake all Accounts Receivable and Payable duties (with support from an Accounts Assistant).
- Contract and manage outside services for tax preparation, auditing, banking, investments, and other financial needs as necessary.
- Proactively seek out methods for minimising financial risk and costs to the Organisation.
- Research and analyse financial reports and market trends.
- Review financial data and prepare budgets and monthly and annual reports.
- Establish and maintain financial policies and procedures for the Organisation.
Selection Criteria
- Be actively involved in a Christian Church.
- Bachelorβs degree in accounting or commerce is required.
- A minimum of 5 yearsβ Accounting and Finance Management experience.
- Experience in the not-for-profit sector, preferably in a Christian organisation.
- Experience with MYOB will be highly regarded.
- CPA/ CA qualification is desirable.
- Demonstrated experience in all aspects of financial management.
- Demonstrated experience in leading and managing teams.
- Sound level computer skills including Microsoft office suite.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Sound Able to prioritise and manage workload and deadlines independently whilst ensuring a high level of accuracy. organisational, time management, multi-tasking and prioritisation skills.
- Ability to analyse and think outside of the box to offer solutions.
