About the role
We are seeking a values-driven and proactive Administration Assistant to provide efficient clerical and administration support to the Corps with the purpose of enhancing the services to the community and supporting the mission of The Salvation Army. The role also provides an initial point of contact, warm welcome, and excellent customer service for those attending the site.
Reporting to the Corps Officer, this is a permanent, part-time (16 hours per week, Tuesday - Friday) position based in Chatswood, NSW. Salary and conditions are in accordance with the Clerks Private Sector Award Level 2.
You will successfully
-
Manage all general administration, and clerical activities within Corps including filing (electronic and hard copy), minute taking, mail, data entry, general correspondence, and other generalist administration activities.

Ensure the provision of customer service to visitors through reception related activities including all phone, face to face and online enquiries.

Administer financial processes and liaise with the Finance Business Partner.

Attend staff meetings, leadership team meetings and training as required.

Work alongside of staff and volunteers to provide support and enhance missional outcomes.
You will have
-
A Certificate IV in Business Administration or relevant experience.

At least 2 years administration experience working with some level of autonomy.

Previous experience with financial clerical tasks/basic accounting.

Experience within a community or NFP setting.

Self-motivation, a high level of initiative and a strong work ethic.

Sound presentation and communication skills (both oral and written) to be able to interact positively with a variety of people.

The ability to prioritise tasks and mange time effectively with good attention to detail.

Team working skills, flexibility and a positive attitude

Excellent customer service skills.

A solid level of computer literacy in Microsoft 365, databases, record management, and exposure to digital accounting systems

Ability to maintain confidentiality.

Experience working with different cultures.
