About the role
Wesley Mission is seeking applications for the position of Board Administrator.
Reporting to the General Counsel & Company Secretary, this role will support the company secretarial functions of a large, registered charity and assist with the timely and efficient administration of Board affairs.
The successful candidate will have a passion and commitment to effective governance and demonstrate a commitment to Wesley Mission’s vision, mission and values.
The primary objectives of this position will include:
- supporting the company secretarial functions of Wesley Mission in accordance with its constitution, the Corporations Act, the Australian Charities and Not-for-Profits Commission Act and other relevant legislation, regulations and practice guidelines
- timely and efficient administration of Board affairs, including organising and managing Board, Committee and annual general meetings, including provision of annual calendars and agendas, compiling and circulating papers to directors, preparing minutes and coordinating and following up on action items
- assisting with statutory records management and reporting
- supporting Wesley Mission in meeting high standards of corporate governance
- providing some executive assistance to the General Counsel & Company Secretary.
Selection Criteria
- qualifications in corporate governance or suitable equivalent
- strong track record in a corporate governance role
- previous deep experience in governance at a senior level, including effective minute taking and liaising with Boards
- proven history of building and maintaining strong relationships, using strong interpersonal skills, initiative, and ability to gain credibility to further the organisation’s governance agenda
- ability to influence stakeholders through a collaborative engagement style and clear decision-making
- demonstrated ability to work unsupervised with a positive can-do attitude
- very good written and verbal skills
- relates well to a range of people with sound listening and problem-solving skills
- use of Diligent Boards or equivalent.
