Your Opportunity
Mission Australia is seeking a visionary and results-driven fundraiser to launch and lead a landmark fundraising campaign that will transform our funding landscape and help ensure every Australian has access to a safe home and the opportunity to thrive.
In this high-impact role, you will work directly with the GM – Fundraising & Marketing and closely with the CEO, Board, and key internal and external stakeholders to achieve ambitious revenue targets. Working with a volunteer Campaign Leadership Committee you will secure and steward high-net-worth individuals, philanthropic donors, and corporate partners, whilst also collaborating with our government team to secure matched funding.
Your leadership will be crucial in driving the acquisition of major gifts and ensuring the seamless execution of the campaign alongside our service delivery teams. With one direct report, the Campaign Coordinator, you will play a key role in shaping a future where everyone has a safe and secure home.
Your key responsibilities will be to:
  • Lead the overall campaign fundraising strategy in collaboration with the organisation’s Leadership and external Agency
  • Develop and implement plans for acquisition, cultivation and stewardship of prospects and donors including moves management
  • Manage and deliver calendar of prospecting and immersion events for committee, prospects and donors
  • Manage the Campaign Committee and support the Campaign Committee Chair including attending meetings and individual committee member development
  • Liaise with Campaign Committee to ensure leadership gifts are secured
  • Manage the relationship with our external Agency to deliver all phases of the campaign including contract management, meetings and communications
  • Manage internal stakeholder relationships including CEO, Board and project team in line with the agreed RACI
  • Manage campaign budgets including forecasting and expenditure
  • Develop reports and provide leadership updates to project team, leadership and external Agency
  • Set leadership standards through demonstration of values-based leadership and actively promote values-based behaviours within Mission Australia
  • Build and maintain an effective and skilled team by establishing role clarity at direct report level ensuring that performance expectations, development and accountabilities are clearly set and reviewed regularly
  • Foster an environment that focuses on client outcomes and donor satisfaction
Requirements for Success
  • 5+ years’ experience in philanthropy or fundraising
  • Demonstrated ability in running and influencing successful end-to-end campaigns/programs according to agreed plans, budgets and financial targets
  • Values alignment to Mission Australia and our Founding Purpose
  • Proven experience in negotiation and demonstrated achievement of significant capital campaign or major gift program outcomes
  • Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to manage and grow key relationships and experience working with CEO and Boards
  • Ability to liaise and engage across a variety of internal and external stakeholders, including volunteer leadership
  • Excellent project management skills, including the ability to manage and prioritise multiple projects and deadlines
  • Effective communication and active listening skills, demonstrating the ability to present information, decision and reasons confidently, clearly and concisely selecting the appropriate medium
Before starting work with us, you will need to undertake a national police history check, qualifications, and referee checks, and have a clearance to work with children/vulnerable people.
