Your Opportunity


Are you an experienced leader with a passion for leveraging data and evidence to drive meaningful impact? Mission Australia is looking for an accomplished General Manager, Evidence & Insights to shape and guide our approach to measuring and driving the impact and effectiveness of our programs and organisational outcomes.



In this key leadership role, you will oversee the Centre for Evidence & Insights, a hub of excellence dedicated to building evidence bases, creating robust data sources and delivering actionable insights for continuous improvement. By collaborating with internal teams and external partners, you will enable evidence-driven decision-making that enhances the impact of our work across communities.

Your key responsibilities will be to:


  • Lead, coach and mentor the centre of excellence specialist team

  • Actively foster a culture across MA that facilitates curiosity, information sharing, communication, learning and use of evidence and insights to inform our work

  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships and partnerships with internal and external stakeholders, including to undertake collaborative projects, exchange ideas and share knowledge

  • Provide high standards of customer service and accessibility to internal stakeholders

  • Translate insights into actionable recommendations and conduct capacity building and learning activities focused on using and applying the insights

  • Oversee teams that:

    • provide technical and service support for client/tenant information systems and analytics and reporting of client/tenant data;

    • create and maintain sustainable/automated Business Intelligence reporting solutions;

    • meet requirements for insights into client impact and organisational and strategic performance, including via a Monitoring & Evolution framework for community and Housing services;

    • deliver a robust research agenda, including population level and client experience research projects; and

    • undertake the Product Management of all Mission Australia’s client and tenant relationship management systems





Requirements for Success


  • Degree qualified in research, analytics or other relevant field, or significant experience in a similar role

  • Demonstrated ability to develop and deliver an integrated program for operational analysis and reporting, organisational analysis and reporting, monitoring and evaluation, and research and insight generation

  • Demonstrated sound judgement, especially in complex and ambiguous contexts

  • Demonstrated strong leadership skills with effective change management capabilities

  • Proficiency in collaboration and internal and external stakeholder management, including forming partnerships with external bodies to deliver results

  • Sound problem solving skills from concept through to delivery, incorporating technical and commercial advice

  • Ability to create a culture which focuses on delivering results and meeting internal and external customers’ needs through expert, high quality advice

  • Effective influencing, negotiating, communication and presentation skills
