Learning Support Teacher (Primary School)

A full-time, permanent position is available for a qualified special and inclusive education teacher to join our Learning Support team in the Primary School from the beginning of Term 1, 2025.

Our team of Learning Support teachers work with students who have a diverse range of learning needs. They support students in classrooms, co-teach, work with small groups on targeted interventions, and work in one-on-one situations to support curriculum access and develop specific academic and cognitive skills. They form collaborative partnerships with academic and wellbeing staff across the school in the development and implementation of appropriate adjustments, individual learning plans and learning resources.

The successful candidate for this role will be a suitably qualified and experienced Primary Learning Support teacher who has specialist training and expertise working with neurodivergent learners, including students with ADHD or Autism, and other specific learning disabilities. They will have strong knowledge of the NSW K-6 Curriculum and will be able to effectively support teachers to make appropriate and necessary adjustments to teaching programs. They will have excellent organisational skills together with strong interpersonal and communication skills. Experience working flexibly, independently and in collaborative partnership with teams of teachers is also essential for this role. A strong knowledge of teaching and learning processes, experience in collecting data for NCCD, evidence of delivering effective targeted interventions and liaising with external professionals are all desirable.
