About Us:

BaptistCare is a leading for-purpose Christian-based care organisation that supports thousands of people across more than 100 locations in NSW, ACT, and WA. From humble beginnings in 1944, BaptistCare has grown into one of the nation’s most respected care and community services providers. We create strong and caring communities and place people at the centre of all we do.

About the Role:

As a Palliative Care Consultant, you will:

  • Provide expert leadership, guidance, and strategy for palliative care across all BaptistCare residential homes.
  • Ensure our palliative care framework reflects best practices and is in full compliance with legislative standards.
  • Support Residential Managers and staff with ongoing education, policy development, and clinical auditing.
  • Engage in quality improvement initiatives, including after-death audits and monitoring of palliative care approaches.
  • Facilitate connections to specialist palliative care services, ensuring our homes have access to the resources they need.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert palliative care guidance and support to the Senior Leadership Team and Residential Homes.
  • Oversee the development and compliance of palliative care policies and systems.
  • Lead clinical education initiatives for staff and provide resources to residents and families.
  • Perform clinical audits and support homes during Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission visits.
  • Actively participate in palliative care research and grants to enhance service delivery.

About You:

  • Tertiary qualifications in nursing, with postgraduate studies in Palliative Care.
  • At least 5 years of experience in aged care, including operational roles in residential aged care facilities.
  • Strong leadership, coaching, and mentoring skills, with a focus on building palliative care expertise.
  • Sound understanding of aged care regulations and compliance standards.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Willingness to travel across NSW and ACT to support BaptistCare homes.

Why BaptistCare?

At BaptistCare, we provide strong, caring communities where our residents’ dignity and choices are always at the heart of what we do. With us, you’ll be part of an organisation that truly makes a difference, offering meaningful work and growth opportunities in a supportive environment.

If you’re passionate about leading palliative care services and have the qualifications and drive to inspire our team, we want to hear from you.
