About the Role
We have an exciting opportunity following an internal restructure for a Payroll Officer to join our team on a permanent full time basis in a fast paced environment, based in Redfern.
The Payroll Officer ensures the accurate processing of the payroll, including timesheets, leave, termination calculations, superannuation and other payroll calculations. They are the go-to person for payroll queries via email.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Process end-to-end fortnightly payroll for 11000 employees within a team / 1000 employees individually
  • Process payroll autonomously with the iChris payroll software
  • Calculation and payment of termination payments
  • Respond to worker queries as required to ensure that matters or issues are resolved in a timely and accurate manner
  • Undertake required processes in iChris and Salvos Workday to ensure accurate and effective data management
About you
Our ideal candidate will be a self-starter with strong analytical and minimum of 2-4 years payroll experience. It’s essential that you have excellent communication skills and enjoy working in payroll.
  • Demonstrated 2+ years’ experience in a similar payroll processing role
  • Comprehensive knowledge of payroll legislation and award interpretation
  • A strong analytical background and proficient Excel skills
  • Demonstrable experience in superior customer service
  • Exposure to multiple EAs and award and high-volume (+11,000 employees) payroll processing
