We believe that every child is an artist. We are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated Art Teacher to provide a nurturing environment where creativity and expression flourish through the magic of art and self-expression.
We have a part-time ongoing position available a 0.8 load at our Preparatory School in Strathfield.
If you are creative, imaginative and are energised to connect art expression to the classroom unit of inquiry and also through co-curricular activities, this may be the opportunity for you. Your creative side will be ignited through working directly with classroom teachers in a transdisciplinary approach (through the International Baccalaureate β Primary Years Programme), as well as through the organisation and promotion of participation in Art exhibitions, creating displays, and so on.
Your well-developed communication and administrative skills will be essential in collaborative planning. Your enthusiasm in bringing art expression into the various units of inquiry will go a long way in helping us enhance our studentsβ development of a love of learning.
This role is part-time. The usual hours would be 8am- 4pm. We are an accredited Family Friendly organisation that values family first and maintaining work life balance, so we will work with you to create a mutually beneficial arrangement.
The ability to work as an effective team member and outstanding interpersonal skills are essential. A formal teaching qualification is required, and experience is desirable, however our ideal applicant is not necessarily the most experienced or qualified. We are looking for an individual who brings enthusiasm, is resourceful and resilient, and is committed to supporting and encouraging students to develop their own natural curiosity through inquiry, risk taking and self-expression.

Remuneration is paid in accordance with the relevant NESA Accreditation level with rates based on the NSW Independent Schools Multi-Enterprise Agreement (Standards Model). The full-time equivalent salary range is between ($94,400 - $133,700) .
