About the School of Social Work
Social Work is the College’s newest school and was established in 2020. Excelsia offers the Master of Social Work (Qualifying), the Graduate certificate of Social Science and the Graduate Diploma of Social Science. Students can expect to explore subjects such as sociology, psychology, and anthropology, gaining a well-rounded understanding of human behaviour and societal dynamics. Each course emphasises practical applications, ensuring that students develop the necessary skills and competencies for real world social work.

About the Role

Primary responsibilities are to:

  • Support students undergoing placements through supervision and liaison visits
  • Network with social workers to expand Field Education Placement opportunities.
  • Assist with recruitment, training and ongoing support of casual supervisors and liaison officers
  • Work with the academic lead for field education to ensure the learning activities of field education are current and operated effectively and efficiently.

Selection Criteria

Qualifications and Professional Standing:

  • Eligible for full membership of the AASW with a minimum five years full-time post-qualifying practice experience.
  • Hold a Bachelor of Social Work or Master of Social Work (Qualifying) Degree.

Essential:

  • Committed Christian involved in a local congregation.
  • An understanding of current and emerging trends in social work education and training.
  • Ability to communicate and work effectively and cooperatively with staff and students from diverse backgrounds.
  • Technological literacy and experience in developing online communication tools and previous experience in online education is desirable.
  • Evidence of a capacity to contribute to effective administration.
