Seeking an experienced and capable office administrator to support the day-to-day running of our Bible study correspondence program.....

About Crossroads Prison Ministries Australia

Crossroads Prison Ministries Australia is a Christ-centred ministry dedicated to sharing the Good News of Jesus with men and women behind bars. Through our Bible study correspondence program, we walk alongside those who are reaching out to Jesus, offering them hope, encouragement, and spiritual growth.

What sets Crossroads apart is the personal, handwritten letter of encouragement that our mentors include with every lesson they mark. For our students, these letters are a source of great joyβ€”reminders that someone cares enough to walk with them on their faith journey. For our mentors, the opportunity to have meaningful faith conversations with those seeking Jesus is deeply rewarding.

In partnership with mentors, churches, and volunteers, we serve incarcerated individuals across Australia and the Pacific Islands, helping them experience the life-transforming power of God’s Word.

About the Role

Crossroads Prison Ministries is seeking an experienced and capable office administrator to support the day-to-day running of our Bible study correspondence program. This newly created role has been established in response to significant growth in the ministry and is ideal for someone with strong administrative skills who is passionate about encouraging and sharing the Good News of Jesus with men and women in prison who are reaching out to Him.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process new enrolments, setting up student profiles in our Salesforce database.
  • Send lessons to students in the correct sequence and ensure smooth lesson distribution.
  • Update our database when lessons are submitted, recording completed lessons, allocating them to mentors, and forwarding them for marking.
  • Track lesson progress, following up with mentors who have outstanding lessons and ensuring timely feedback to students.
  • Follow up with students who have not submitted a lesson in the usual timeframe to offer support and encouragement.
  • Answer student queries, including requests for letters of support, Bibles, or other assistance.
  • Assist in maintaining accurate records to ensure smooth communication between students, mentors, and the Crossroads team.
  • Arrange the printing and distribution of lessons, and manage Bible stock levels to ensure supplies are always available.
  • Book international couriers and coordinate the timely delivery of materials to ministry partners, particularly in the Pacific Islands.
  • Assist with advanced administrative tasks such as mail merges, generating database reports, and improving workflow processes.
  • Support the broader team in day-to-day office operations as needed.

Who We’re Looking For

We’re seeking a committed Christian who is an active member of a local church and passionate about sharing the good news of Jesus with those in prison. The ideal candidate will have experience in administration.

This role is best suited to someone who enjoys working in a team, values the fellowship of a shared mission, and is eager to serve in a meaningful way. We have a wonderful culture in our office because everyone is here with the same heart for Jesus.

There is the opportunity for this role to support our team of office volunteers, and so experience in motivating and leading a team, especially of volunteers would be highly regarded.

If you are interested in this role or would like more information, we would love to hear from you.
