About the Position
Newington College has an exciting opportunity for a dedicated Classroom Teacher to join our Wyvern Preparatory School on a temporary full-time basis commencing in Term 4 2024, as a leave cover for a duration of one term.
The successful incumbent will demonstrate commitment to high standards of care and teaching. The Classroom Teacher isexpected to be flexible, enthusiastic, competent and dynamic team members, who actively engage in the daily life of the school, in addition to their specific responsibilities at class level. An ability and willingness to contribute to the pastoral care and co-curricular program will be required.

- have appropriate teaching and tertiary qualifications
- be a dynamic, innovative and successful classroom practitioner
- have an excellent understanding of the learning needs of primary aged students
- engage students in a vibrant Prep School education program at all levels
- utilise appropriate technologies to enhance student learning
- work effectively as a member of an enthusiastic team
- show genuine care for students and a strong commitment to proving a safe and supportive learning environment
- enthusiastically participate in the school’s co-curricular program
- have experience teaching the upper primary years (desirable but not essential)
- understand and adhere to the College’s Child Safeguarding policies and practices
- contribute to the continuous improvement of child safeguarding at Newington.
