Your Opportunity

Are you passionate about making a real difference in the lives of those who need it most?

Mission Australia is looking for an inspired and creative Content Manager to lead the way in crafting powerful content that amplifies our mission to end homelessness and reduce poverty. In this exciting role, you’ll manage content development across our website, social media (excluding Twitter), video, and SEO, ensuring our brand is consistent, compassionate, and impactful. You’ll collaborate with internal teams to create content that advances our fundraising, marketing, and advocacy goals, while driving social media content, scheduling, and community engagement.

As a leader, you’ll also mentor a talented Social Media and Content Coordinator.. This role can be based in Sydney, Melbourne, or Brisbane and is a 15-month maternity leave contract though to September 2026.

Your key responsibilities will be to:

  • Manage content planning and development in collaboration with
    other stakeholders.
  • Develop content that meet business, fundraising and marketing
    objectives.
  • Content production including, website content, social media (except
    for Twitter), video and Search Engine Optimisation.
  • Manage social media content planning, scheduling and moderation,
    in collaboration with the Social Media and Content Coordinator.
  • Develop strong, effective and consultative working relationships with
    key internal stakeholders identify opportunities to improve current processes and procedures including automation of current manual processes.
  • Lead and mentor one direct report, the Social Media and Content Coordinator, ensuring high-quality content delivery.

Requirements for success

  • 5+ years of experience in developing content plans and copywriting, with strong knowledge of marketing and communications trends.
  • Exceptional copywriting, editing, and content creation skills, blending words, design, photography, and videography to drive engagement and action.
  • Proven experience with Content Management Systems (Optimizely highly preferred) and digital content production.
  • Strong SEO skills to develop strategies that drive traffic and increase online visibility.
  • Experience engaging Christian audiences and churches, creating content that resonates with this community desired.
  • Strong relationship management skills, with the ability to inspire, negotiate, and collaborate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.

Before starting work with us, you will need to undertake a national police history check, qualifications, and referee checks.
