Early Childhood Teacher

· 38 hours per week
· Salary $73,150 to $80,000 per year plus superannuation

We currently seek a professional Early Childhood Teacher to join our team.
Engadine Church of Christ Preschool known as Connect Preschool is a community focused church affiliated Preschool. We have been serving the local community for more than 50 years.
At Connect Preschool, we endeavour to support each child to reach their God given potential as well as provide genuine education and care. Our collaborative goal of a highly qualified, caring team is to create a warm inviting environment and ongoing support for our families.
This role is an essential role to the success of our service and is key for providing an outstanding experience for the children.
Accountabilities and Key Performance Indicators
In conjunction with other educators, develop and implement a high quality education and care curriculum for all enrolled children that is consistent with:
o Our Philosophy, procedures and policies
o The National Quality Standards
o Education and Care Services National Regulations
o Education and Care Services National Law
o Early Years Lening Framework (v2.0)
o Child Safe Standards
o Recognise and respect the diversity of families
o Be culturally responsive
o Build and maintain positive relationships with families
o Work within the National Quality Framework, the Early Childhood Australia Code of Ethics, Child Safe Standards, the service philosophy, policies and procedures.
o Participate in an induction process upon joining the service.
o Engage in the service learning community approach to ongoing professional learning.
o Work in a manner that does not pose a risk to self or others
o Ensure cultural safety in the workplace
o Ensure a safe and healthy work environment at all times
o Ensure all individual care plans, medical conditions, plans etc are current and enacted
Qualifications
· Approved Early Childhood Teaching qualification
· Have previous experience in a similar role working with preschool aged children
· Possess excellent communication, organisation and time management skills
· Strong understanding of the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and the National Quality Standard/Framework (NQS/NQF)
· Team player who is open to different views, receptive to feedback and reflects critically upon best practice
· Current Working with Children Check
· Current Child Protection Training approved by the NSW reporting agency
· Current Anaphylaxis, Asthma, CPR and First Aid Certificates
Desirable
· Willingness to be appointed as a Nominated Supervisor, Responsible Person or Educational Leader
· Desirable to hold post graduate/tertiary qualifications in leadership and/or to have service leadership experience
· Desirable to hold a National Police Check (state/territory relevant).
Experience
· Demonstrated understanding of the Early Years Learning Framework (v2.0) and the National Quality Standard
· Demonstrated experience in curriculum development and documenting children’s learning
Capabilities
· Ability to relate effectively to children and their families and to be attuned and responsive
· Ability to work effectively in a team environment
· Developed communication and inter-personal skills
· Commitment to ongoing professional learning

· Demonstrated ability to design an emergent play-based curriculum with a focus on language development, foundational literacy and numeracy, thinking and problem-solving as well as emotional and social development to assist child’s learning
· Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the National Quality Standards and the Assessment and Rating Process
· Demonstrated understanding of assessment and pedagogical documentation
· Focus on creating a supportive, inclusive learning environment
· Ability to develop healthy relationships of mutual respect with children, staff and families
· Demonstrated understanding to teach from a Christian Worldview
· Well-developed communication skills and communication with parents
