About the role


We are currently seeking applications from qualified Primary School teachers with a passion for teaching Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children - in our Gawura School. This position is a part time role, 4 days per week or full-time by negotiation.




Essential Criteria



  • Be a qualified, experienced teacher who demonstrates enthusiasm and the ability to inspire primary age students

  • Demonstrate a sound knowledge of recent developments in the theory and practice of primary pedagogy

  • Possess outstanding interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with the Junior School team

  • Be expected to have an understanding of and commitment to the School’s Christian framework, values and ethos


Desirable Criteria:



  • Particular expertise in the effective development of literacy & numeracy as well as unqualified support for the ethos of St Andrew’s Christian character and Gawura’s educational model is desired

  • Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander ancestry or experience teaching First Nations students
