The College is seeking a Head of Liturgy and Retreats to join our team for the commencement of the 2025 school year.

Ideally, this position would suit a teacher with allocated time allowance, however applicants from a non-teaching background who possess appropriate experience may also be considered.

About the Role

The Head of Liturgy and Retreats is a key leadership position within our school community. This position involves overseeing all aspects related to liturgical events, student retreats and spiritual formation programs. The successful candidate will play an integral role in nurturing the faith and wellbeing of our students, collaborating with staff, students and parents to create meaningful experiences that ensure our Catholic ethos is woven into the fabric of daily life at the College.

Key Responsibilities will include:

  • Developing and implementing liturgical programs that align with the College’s values
  • Coordination of Masses, prayer services and other religious ceremonies
  • Collaborating with the Deputy Principal – Mission and Wellbeing and the College Chaplain, staff and students to create meaningful worship experiences
  • Building on the success of the College’s Liturgical and Retreat program by creating and maintaining the long-term strategic direction of the program
  • Liaising with key outside stakeholders such as the Diocese and local parishes to implement and promote College programs and initiatives
  • Infusing our Catholic Augustinian culture into daily school life, emphasizing values, traditions and teachings
  • Collaborating with other departments to ensure a holistic educational experience
  • Being willing to contribute to the College’s academic, spiritual and co-curricular life

To be successful in the role you will have:

  • A reputation as a positive role model for staff and students
  • Demonstrated success in developing, implementing, and evaluating retreat and liturgical activities
  • Depth of knowledge of, and advocacy for, Catholic mission and identity and Augustinian charism
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Required qualifications to teach in NSW schools (for teaching applicants)
  • A commitment to child safety and St Augustine’s educational values
  • A commitment to ongoing personal professional development
  • Musical background (advantageous but not essential)
