The College is seeking an experienced Head of Religious Education to join our team for the commencement of the 2025 school year.

About the Role

As the Head of Religious Education, you will lead our dynamic Religious Education department, shaping the curriculum, fostering a deep understanding of faith, and nurturing students’ spiritual development. Your leadership will contribute to our mission of empowering students to live out their values and engage with faith.

Key Responsibilities will include:

  • Continuing the ongoing development and implementation of an engaging Religious Education curriculum aligned to our Catholic and Augustinian ethos
  • Leading a team of passionate Religious Education teachers, providing mentorship and professional development
  • Fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages students to explore their beliefs and values
  • Collaborating with other department heads and Leadership to integrate faith-based learning experiences across disciplines and implement the aims of the College
  • Supporting the Augustinian Catholic culture of the College
  • Being willing to contribute to the College’s academic, spiritual and co-curricular life

To be successful in the role you will have:

  • Proven experience in teaching Religious Education at the secondary level
  • Strong leadership skills and a passion for educational excellence
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Required qualifications to teach in NSW schools
  • A commitment to child safety and St Augustine’s educational values
  • A commitment to ongoing personal professional development
