We are now welcoming applications for a Head of Teaching & Learning K-12 to join our team. This is a newly created leadership position responsible for the strategic oversight and enhancement of teaching and learning practices from Kindergarten to Year 12. We see this role as an exciting next step in our evolution where they will be pivotal in ensuring the academic excellence and continuous improvement of educational outcomes through innovative strategies, data-driven decision-making, and professional development. They will work with the broader academic leadership team inshaping the educational experience and outcomes for all studentstofoster a culture of excellence with an emphasis on inclusion, student wellbeing and the education of the whole child.

Reporting to the Principal, this is a full time, permanent position to commence in 2025.

About This Opportunity

This position will be a part of our Senior Executive team (known as SAT - Strategic Advisory Team) and is a member of the Primary and High School Leadership teams. As a member of the SAT, they will also be involved in planning, decision-making and leadership relating to whole school matters that sit outside of their specific remit. They will work collaboratively with the Head of Primary School and Head of High School on all teaching and learning matters relevant to their area. They may step into an acting role for the Head of High School where necessary.

The Head of Teaching & Learning K-12 is responsible for oversight of all aspects of Teaching & Learning across Primary and High School and will oversee the Specialist Learning Centre, Gifted & Talented Programs, Innovation, Digital Learning Technologies, and Libraries.

This includes responsibilities across:

  • K-12 Teaching and Learning
  • Leadership in Innovation and Technology
  • Assessment and Data Analysis
  • Teacher Recruitment and Professional Development.

The Head of Teaching & Learning K-12 is a member of the School’s teaching community and as such, will participate in the regular life of the School. They will undertake other duties of a teacher, such as those in relation to pastoral care, supervision of students, extra-curricular activities etc, as requested by the Principal. TheHead of Teaching & Learning K-12 will undertake a teaching load of one class as part of their role.

About the Successful applicant

The successful applicant will have formal qualifications in education, preferably at Masters level, proven experience in a senior leadership role and a deep understanding of NSW K-12 curriculum and educational best practices. They will have a strong background or understanding of data analysis and its application in an educational setting and have experience leading professional development and coaching academic staff.

They will be a visionary leader with a commitment to academic excellence, innovation and growth and development of themselves and others. They will have an ability to drive change and inspire a culture of continuous improvement. They will have strong analytical skills with the ability to make data-driven decisions, excellent interpersonal skills, a collaborative approach and the ability to communicate clearly and openly.

They will hold a valid Working With Children Check (WWCC) in accordance with the Child Protection (Working with Children) Act 2012.
