Operation Christmas Child (OCC) is the evangelical ministry arm of Samaritan’s Purse Australia Ltd, and one of the world’s largest child evangelism projects, where gift filled shoeboxes are hand delivered to children in developing countries, demonstrating God’s love and sharing the Good News of Jesus Christ through well-developed evangelism and discipleship programs such as “The Greatest Journey”.
The individual holding this position will lead, develop and oversee the Operations of the OCC project across Australia and New Zealand. This incorporates managing all aspects of the domestic logistics system of OCC, transport of shoeboxes, shoebox-related items, and Gifts in Kind (GIK) donations. This role is responsible for developing, implementing, and coordinating all field operational aspects of OCC domestically together with a leadership role in Workplace Health and Safety and Risk Management.
This role serves as part of the OCC National Leadership Team and works with the OCC Regional Ministry Leaders to empower, develop, resource and support Volunteer OCC Logistics Coordinators. The National Field Operations Manager has responsibility for the securing, set-up and fit-out of our seasonal Processing Centres, together with the appointment of Process Centre staff, establishing effective operational processes and the training and equipping of the staff and volunteers who serve in the Processing Centres.
