Located in Rockhampton, Kingsley College has seen a steady growth of students over the last five years. Founded in 1993, our college educates students with a Christian worldview, emphasising the Word of God and the Lordship of Christ in their service to the world. We currently have more than 260 students studying on campus and via distance education.

Kingsley College has a new and exciting opportunity for a full-time Year 5 Primary Teacher to join our team in Rockhampton, QLD, commencing in Term 1, 2025.

About the Opportunity

As our Primary Teacher, you will be responsible for teaching students in Year 5, both in the classroom and through distance education.

You will have in-person classes, as well as some distance education students, and you will be able to build rapport and connection with your students and bring complex concepts to life in an engaging way.

When you join our Primary School team, you will be part of a collaborative and connected unit of educators, and you will have the option to help run any extra-curriculars that may interest you.

As an Upper Primary Teacher, preparing students for Secondary will be part of your role, and you will find engaging ways to set them up for success so that their transition will be as smooth as possible..

About You

As our newest Primary Teacher, you will be passionate about educating young people with a Middle Years approach. Previous experience in teaching Upper Primary would be an advantage.

You will have:

  • A minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Education or equivalent
  • Queensland Teacher’s Registration, or the ability to obtain
  • High-level communication skills with staff, students, and families
  • Strong digital literacy

Able to build rapport well, you will be passionate about engaging with students on an individual level, both in-person and virtually.

You will have the ability to implement the school’s Christian values and philosophy in the classroom and other aspects of College life to foster faith and deliver positive educational outcomes for students.

You will be comfortable serving students from a range of socio-economic and cultural backgrounds; high achievers, and those with learning difficulties. You will also be able to adapt your approach to each student's needs and explain concepts in a way they will understand.
