About Crossroads Prison Ministries Australia

Crossroads Prison Ministries Australia is a Christ-centred ministry dedicated to sharing the Good News of Jesus with men and women behind bars. Through our Bible study correspondence program, we walk alongside those who are reaching out to Jesus, offering them hope, encouragement, and spiritual growth.

What sets Crossroads apart is the personal, handwritten letter of encouragement that our mentors include with every lesson they mark. For our students, these letters are a source of great joy—reminders that someone cares enough to walk with them on their faith journey. For our mentors, the opportunity to have meaningful faith conversations with those seeking Jesus is deeply rewarding.

In partnership with mentors, churches, and volunteers, we serve incarcerated individuals across Australia and the Pacific Islands, helping them experience the life-transforming power of God’s Word.

About the Role (1 day per week)

Crossroads Prison Ministries is seeking a skilled Promotions Coordinator to help share the powerful impact of our ministry with supporters, mentors, and churches. This newly created position is ideal for someone with experience in promotions and marketing, particularly in engaging a Christian audience.

We have incredible stories of transformation, and we need a dedicated professional who can bring them to life—crafting compelling newsletters, managing our social media presence, and overseeing our YouTube channel. Your work will inspire others to support Crossroads and join us as mentors, strengthening our mission to bring hope to those in prison through Christ-centered relationships.

If you have a passion for storytelling, a heart for ministry, and the skills to expand our reach, we’d love to hear from you!

Key Responsibilities

  • Create the Crossroads Ministry Update, a monthly newsletter updating supporters on ministry activities and opportunities to get involved.
  • Develop the Mentor News newsletter, providing mentors with ongoing training, guidance, and encouragement, as well as training and inspiration for those who would like to represent Crossroads at events.
  • Compile and produce the Weekly Mentor Prayer Focus, sharing prayer points for Crossroads and prayer requests from students.
  • Manage Crossroads’ YouTube channel, uploading and organising videos to engage and inspire our audience.
  • Oversee social media content, ensuring our message reaches a wider audience and effectively communicates the impact of our work.
  • Work closely with the Crossroads team to gather stories, testimonies, and updates that reflect the heart of the ministry.
  • Coordinate and implement additional marketing and promotional activities as needed to support the mission and growth of the ministry, including content creation, campaign support, event promotion, and website updates.
  • Ensure all communications align with Crossroads’ mission and values.

Who We’re Looking For

We’re seeking a committed Christian who is an active member of a local church and passionate about supporting prison ministry. The ideal candidate will have experience in communications, marketing, or administration, with strong writing and organisational skills. Confidence with social media and digital platforms is important, and experience with email marketing tools (Mailchimp) or graphic design software is a plus.

This role is well-suited to someone who enjoys writing, storytelling, and engaging with people through digital communication. It offers a wonderful opportunity to use your skills to share God’s work in prisons and encourage others to get involved.

We have a wonderful culture in our office because everyone is here with the same heart for Jesus. Being able to work mostly from our office is therefore our preference due to the ongoing need to compile content from the rest of the team. However, remote work may be considered for the right person.

If you are interested in this role or would like more information, we would love to hear from you.
